Meet the Author

Award winning author, Robyn Gioia, grew up in the multicultural area around Ohio State University. One of her favorite places to visit was the university museum where she found the Egyptian mummy fascinating and marveld at Edison's inventions. Over the years, Robyn has served hamburgers at McDonalds, filed things for the magazine Highlights for Children, clerked in a bookstore (she read lots of books), worked in several restaurants (she learned about gourmet cooking) and co-owned a top ten award-winning, gourmet Chinese restaurant. She has even made her first-place almond chocolate chip cookies to order.

After working in both public and private  schools in the U.S., she ventured overseas to teach in the UAE, Puerto Rico, and Seoul, Korea. During a two year assignment in Japan, she worked as an International School principal and an IB/PYP teacher.
